The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle
The botanical gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle undisputedly belong to probably the most beautiful estate gardens in Europe. Extending over more than 12-hectars (29.65 acres), the gardens feature over 80 different garden landscapes, including woodland gardens, summer country gardens, water and terrace gardens and gardens which host and reflect the typical flora varieties of South Tyrol. The stunning restored castle houses the Touriseum museum with its permanent exhibition of Tyrolean and South Tyrolean history of tourism. Aided by a multimedia presentation, the history and development of tourism in this alpine region is vividly described.
